2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster

This was the first SLR McLaren I have ever seen in person, no lie. So, when I had the opportunity to shoot it, I was stoked. It’s a very tight fit with an uncomfortable seat but a really dope car to shoot.

The car sold on BringATrailer for $387,000!

Here is the write up from BringATrailer:

This 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren roadster was sold new by Mercedes-Benz of North Olmsted, Ohio, and was subsequently registered in Florida, Georgia, and Texas before it was acquired by the selling dealer in 2021. The car is finished in white with a brown tweed soft top over Silver Arrow brown leather upholstery, and power comes from a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 paired with an AMG Speedshift five-speed automatic transmission. Features include upward-opening butterfly doors, 19” Turbine wheels, ceramic-composite disc brakes, an electronically deployed rear spoiler, carbon-fiber interior trim, and an aftermarket stereo. A May 2021 service at Mercedes-Benz of Austin in Texas included an oil change, fresh brake fluid, and the replacement of the skid plate screws. This SLR McLaren shows 9k miles and is now offered with factory books, a set of replacement hood, door, and trunk struts, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Texas title.

The exterior is finished in special-order white (000U) and features bi-xenon headlamps, upward-opening butterfly doors, tinted side windows, twin side-exhaust outlets behind each front wheel, a rear diffuser, a brown tweed soft top, and an electronically deployed rear spoiler and air brake. A set of hood, door, and trunk struts are included in the sale.

Turbine-style 19” wheels wear 255/35 front and 295/30 rear Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Braking equipment includes silver-painted calipers over carbon-ceramic rotors, Sensotronic Brake Control (SBC), and an automatic rear air brake. Fresh brake fluid was added in May 2021.

The interior features carbon-fiber-backed bucket seats trimmed in optional Silver Arrow Tobacco Brown leather, and matching upholstery extends to the door panel inserts, center console, and dashboard. Contrasting black leather accents the dashboard, carbon-fiber trim adorns the center stack, and the black carpets are protected by SLR-branded floor mats. The car was optioned with an XXL-sized driver seat and an XL passenger seat. Additional equipment includes dual-zone climate control, cruise control, a shift knob-mounted starter button, an aftermarket stereo system, and a draft stop with the SLR logo.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 220-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer shows under 9k miles, 200 of which were added by the selling dealer.

The front-mid-mounted 5.4-liter AMG V8 features aluminum construction, a Lysholm-type twin-screw supercharger, and a dry-sump oiling system. The engine was factory rated at 617 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels via an AMG Speedshift five-speed automatic transmission that can be manually shifted via buttons on the back of the steering wheel. An oil change was performed by Mercedes-Benz of Austin in May 2021.
